There are practical things you can do to help yourself. Here are some ideas:

MindMum is an app to help with emotional wellbeing in new mums.
MumMoodBooster is a free online program for postnatal anxiety and depression based on a psychological intervention - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Remember, your mental health is important. By looking after yourself first you will be able to better look after your baby and have a positive experience of parenthood.

Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA) is an Australian organisation that supports people to recover from perinatal anxiety and depression.
They also have an online checklist so that you can see if it could be helpful for you to talk to a health professional about postnatal depression. The website also has a checklist for new dads and non-birth parents.
