Low Value Care/Overdiagnosis

Low value care and overdiagnosis have serious implications for individuals, healthcare systems, and society. Evidence-based healthcare communication and decision making, including important aspects of health literacy, are essential to ensure low value care and overdiagnosis are addressed. This theme will draw on the team’s expertise and experience in overdiagnosis and women’s health, with the current focus of the theme on how language and communication of feminism is being used in various women’s health conditions and issues to justify and drive low value care, overuse and medicalisation.
