Shared Decision Making

Shared decision making is increasingly recognised as an essential element of healthcare. The Sydney Health Literacy Lab’s research has a strong focus on shared decision making, which is about encouraging and enabling people to be involved in health decisions together with their healthcare providers. The Lab has produced many tools to support shared decision making, including decision aids and question prompt lists. We have also highlighted the importance of addressing diverse health literacy needs in such interventions.
