Carbon Health Literacy

Carbon health literacy is an essential skill for clinicians, community members, and policymakers, and refers to the knowledge, understanding, and skills to use carbon footprint information in an informed and critical way when making healthcare decisions. This theme brings together behavioural scientists, health service researchers, epidemiologists, and carbon footprinting expertise to develop and validate new measures of carbon health literacy, and to co-design and evaluate (1) formats for communicating carbon emissions information and (2) behavioural change interventions aiming to influence the adoption of low carbon clinical care.
