Lizzy Perks

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Perks is a PhD student in the Sydney School of Public Health under the supervision of Dr Danielle Muscat and Professor Kirsten McCaffery. Her research is a mixed qualitative/quantitative study which is part of the Parenting Plus program, designed to improve health literacy and health outcomes for parents and babies in communities in Western Sydney. Lizzy's research focusses specifically on the mental health literacy needs of new parents and is funded by a Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Research (DVC-R) Scholarship.

Lizzy completed her Honours in Psychology in 2020 at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Professor Kirsten McCaffery, Dr Julie Ayre and Dr Tessa Copp with a focus on health-seeking behaviour and intolerance of uncertainty. Lizzy also has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Arts and is currently an AHPRA registered Provisional Psychologist working with children and adolescents in Sydney.
